Dear President George W. Bush:
I want to thank you for all your hard work on behalf of Conservative Evangelical Republicans such as myself who sincerely want their voices to be heard in the political arena on issues dear to their hearts. I am a long time Conservative Republican; this is easily verified. I believe the principals for which the Republican party stands for are far more closely aligned with Biblical teachings than any other political party has ever been. The Republican Party is to me as Israel has always been to God. As the Book of Deuturonomy Chapter 7 verse 6 states, “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord you God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the Earth.” I love the Republican Party in a manner similar to the love God has for Israel.
Unfortunately Mr. President under YOUR leadership the Republicans have made several critical errors just as Israel did several times.
Joshua 6: 1 states, "But the sons of Israel acted unfaithfully in regard to the things under the ban,…”
And while I adore your judicial appointments and the tax policies enacted under your leadership, I must be honest when evaluating how my fellow Republicans have acted and I have to hold my own party accountable. With Republicans controlling the White House, United States Senate, and House of Representatives the following items continue to be MAJOR problems:
* Deficit spending continues to be a major problem even with a booming economy. And these deficits are not be caused by ‘efforts to protect the American people, but by out of control spending by the Federal government under Republican control.
* Over 5 years after 911 the Republicans have
made little effort to control their own borders;
northern or southern, in an effort to protect the American
people from another terrorist attack. The bi-partisan
911 Commission report was abysmal
even with my beloved Republicans.
* You reward administration loyalty (Katrina, Pentagon) to a fault and ignore
results and potential creative solutions.
* You refused to reevaluate policy when it wasn't working (IRAQ).
And, the list goes on. And now President Bush the voters have refused to listen
to you and a lot of good Republicans lost their reelection bids because of
you. And you probably still can't imagine that you did anything wrong. You
thought you could manipulate your base with PR and spin and political games.
You kept repeating hackneyed phrases that belittle anyone's intelligence.
I therefore have to conclude as much as I love the Republicans just as God loves Israel that the Republicans needed to be held accountable. When I look at how to hold my party accountable I look to the teachings of God. This is how God handled Israel when he held them accountable.
Joshua 7:12 “Therefore the sons of Israel cannot stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, for they have become accursed. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy the things under the ban from your midst.”
1 Kings 11:14 “Then the Lord raised up an adversary to Solomon…”
1 Kings 14:10 “Therefore behold, I am bringing calamity on the house of Jeroboam..”
1 Kings 14:15 “For the Lord will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water….”
Mr. President the bottom line is as much as I love the Republican Party and cherish what it stands for the truth is they have been corrupted by total power and have governed poorly. The Republicans needed to be held accountable. And the Bible explicitly discusses accountability.
Judges 2:3-3 “…I will not drive them out before you; but they shall become as thorns in your sides…” As distasteful as having Nancy Pelosi as the leader of The House of Representatives is the Republicans needed to be held accountable.
The bottom line Mr. President is the Democratic Party is about to come down on you like the raff of ‘GOD’ and it’s your own fault.
FOR GOODNESS SAKE - WAKE UP! Wake up in time for your Conservative
to recover in time for the 2008 election!
Standing on Principle is one thing. Standing on stubbornness is another. What's
it going to take for you guys to realize you made some major mistakes? And
do a serious reevaluation? For goodness sake - do an honest evaluation of
what you are doing right and doing wrong and stop listening to your sycophantic
"YES" men in your inner circle. How about getting the surviving
Republican Congressmen and some of the Republican casualties together and
asking them what you are doing right and doing wrong instead of dictating
to everyone outside the White House from on high.
